The Farm
The farm is within 150km from Cape Town and has been a productive livestock and cash crop farm since the early 1800s
Opportunities are endless and work is plentiful with this unique farm that is ideally suited for livestock farming. The farm is unique as it borders the winter rainfall mediterranean climate of the winelands and the summer rainfall of the Karoo. Since it is ranges from 1950-1100 meters above sea level the farm experiences snowfall in the winter.

Dorper
The Dorper is a South African mutton breed. The breed was developed for the arid extensive regions of South Africa but now also used in the ultra cold regions.It is one of the most fertile of sheep breeds that is hornless with good body length and a short light covering of hair and wool. Furthermore the breed shows exceptional adaptability, hardiness, reproduction rates and growth as well as good mothering abilities. Which ,combined ,makes it the perfect breed for the farm.
Boergoat
Boer Goat, A South African breed of goat, the most productive meat goat in the world. They are prized for their size, rapid weight gain, carcass quality, hardiness, and docility. Boer Goat are renowned for kidding as often as three times in two years, frequently bearing twins and sometimes triplets. They can handle the cold ,heat and droughts which is ideal for the farm.


Cattle
We will be using a mixed breed of cattle to utilize and manage grazing areas
Lucerne (alfalfa)
Lucerne is high in nutritional benefits for both sheep, goats and cattle. Lucerne has extra benefits such as Nitrogen fixing which improves the quality of the soil. It is a hardy plant that has deep roots that dry out soil which allows the soil to hold more water when there is more available, which in turn helps reduce soil erosion. Lucerne can be used as a pastureland or can be cut, baled and stored for use at a later stage. It is also a cash crop that can be sold.
